How to look after your Tradescantia Zebrina
Bright indirect light
Allow the top two inches of soil to dry before watering. Over-watering is the main killer of these plants.
Prefers increased humidity but can tolerate normal levels
Feed with a weak houseplant fertiliser during the summer
History of Inch Plants
The name of the genus Tradescantia comes from two English explorers John Tradescant the elder and John Tradescant the younger who brought the first Tradescantia to England in 1629. They have since become popular across the globe as ornamental house plants that are favoured for their fast growth and trailing abilities.
Green with Silver stripes?
Just like the question of whether a Zebra is white with black stripes or black with white stripes, the same could be said for Tradescantia Zebrinas. The green and silver contrast leaves sparkle on top with a deep purple underbelly.
