How to look after your Peace Lily
Prefers indirect light with some shade (helps it to flower). Yellow flowers indicate too much light, try moving it 6ft away from any windows.
Peace lilies like to let you know when they're thirsty, once you notice them slightly drooping it's time for a water. Keep the soil slightly damp.
This plant loves high humidity. Give it a spritz every now and then, place on a tray of pebbles with water or use a diffuser/humidifier to keep it happy.
Feed once every 6 weeks with a diluted houseplant fertiliser. Water thoroughly after feeding. Start feeding in early Spring.
History of Peace Lilies
A member of the Araceae family and is native to the tropical rainforests of sSouth America, specifically Colombia and Venezuela. It was first brought over to Europe in the late 1800s. This easy to look after plant quickly became a popular choice for green and brown thumbed collectors alike.
The Peace Lily's crisp white flowers mean it considered a symbol of peace. The flower represents the white flag - the universal signal of surrender or truce.
It is also associated with purity, prosperity, innocence and sympathy making it.a favourite gift for weddings, funerals and everything in between.
