How to look after your variegated Rubber Plant
This plant isn't fussy and can tolerate most light conditions. Keep it happy in a bright indirect sun spot.
Water deeply once the top 2 inches of soil is dry.
Occasional misting helps create some humidity and keeps dust from settling.
Feed every 4 weeks in the Spring and Summer with a diluted houseplant fertiliser.
History of Rubber Plants
Rubber plants are native to South Asia and Southeast Asia and has been used for its sap for thousands of years. Aztecs used the plants gooey sap to make shoes!
Got Milk?
Rubber plants excrete a milky white sap when cut.This liquid is latex and was used to make rubber. This sap is an irritant to the eyes and skin and can be toxic if taken internally - so best kept away from pets and small people!
