Chinese Money Plant (Pilea peperomioides)

plant care guide

With its round green leaves, and retro aesthetic; this plant looks great on a windowsill. Best of all - they're fairly low maintenance, so it's perfect for those who don't have green thumbs

Chinese Money Plant 101
Light

Your Chinese money plant will be happiest with bright, indirect light. It can tolerate a variety of sun conditions including lower light levels. Low light will produce darker green leaves that are more stretched and spread out.

Common Pests & Problems

White Spotty Leaves

White dots on your pilea are actually completely normal and harmless. It is caused by a build-up of mineral deposits. Try switching to filtered water and regularly wiping down leaves.

Curling Leaves

Curling leaves can indicate not enough light, inconsistent watering and/or temperature stress. Newer leaves are naturally curled and will begin to flatten as they mature.

Yellowing Leaves

Yellow leaves are one of the first signs of stress. This can be caused by temperature shock, improper watering, nutrient issues, or even pests.
